Glimpses of Dhading's Lapa displaced and resettlement.

Although I have visited many places after mega earthquake hit Nepal in 26 April BUT I haven't seen such a devastating and heartbreaking situation of earthquake affected people in Dhola Village Development Committee (VDC) Ward No. 7 where they have relocated and resettled to safer places on their own from Lapa VDC ward No. 1, 3 and 6 total 55 households 307 members have been displaced after their homes got destroyed in the quake and compelled to leave because those wards are situated at the foot of a cliff faces imminent risk of landslip and also land has cracked severely due to earthquake tremors.

They have been sheltering under tents and facing a hard time due to the soaring heat and incessant rainfall in Dhading.
The worst hit are the 300 households residing in the open in the Dhola VDC Ward No. 7 forest area. The victims said they faced hunger, shortage of drinking water, toilet, electricity and medication. They do not have necessary clothes, only the tent. Some of them sleep on dried leaves.
In the coordinationship of Dil Bahadur Subba and his advisory committe team, Dhurba Bikram Malla and Manoj Gautam, Dinesh Tamang and his team have been managing those settlement and came to know that they were able to get fund from 96 years old Canadian lady to buy land for the relocating those 55 households. It is really shocking to know that from Lapa to come to the District Health Quarter Dhadingbesi it takes 5 days.
We came to know that there are total 155 school aged children, 14 under 5 children, 3 pregnat women, 12 single women (widow), more than 12 lactating mothers and 11 elderly people aged 70-98. There are more males than females.
Although living condition is very hard since they came from mountainious cold weather to low hill region and have been staying in the tents more than 4 months in hot and humide weather however they have well managed defecation facility constructing toilets for each household. heart emoticon like emoticon
Dr Kiran Raj Awasthi designed semi-permanent structure shelter funded by Katie Hilborn, Founding Director of Global Orphan Prevention and her team members Kala Klndr, Curtis Gt and his two Nepali sons Gaurab and Anil Sherpa including a General Phsysican Ali Hussian Ombar from Somalia and myself went there as per Dinesh Tamang and his team request to replace tent based temporary health facility managed by themselves in their own way hiring paramedic within the affected members.
We handed over 20 umbrellas given by Midwifery Society of Nepal for pregnant and postnatal mothers including single women. Besides children/baby clothes, food, soap, etc have handed over that were donated to me by Bibekshil team members. Also headlight with battery donated by Tendi Sherpa given to paramedic/health worker who is responsible to look after these areas.
Besides we also handed over 5 Birthing Kits to paramedic just in case if those pregnant women wouldn't able to go timely to the nearby birthing centre that takes almost 2 hours walk from their locality.
They have been provided tents and rice including other relief materials from Salvation Army and one of the other organisation. Each household has received NPR 7000 and NPR 15000 from the government of Nepal. Besides there is no such a support from government they have received. The main persons who are managing food and everything for this settlement said they have adequate rice for 15 days only and for there after they have to find out supporters who can help them.
This new settlement need help in each and every aspect.
Because of pneumonia recently 16 years old boy died in District Hospital Dhading and they think that it is due to negligence of health professionals he died.
